Google Ads has announced an update to its Other restricted businesses Government documents and services policy, effective March 17, 2026.

Under the new rules, advertisers promoting Business identifiers and exclusively targeting India will not need to qualify as a government or authorized provider. However, they must still apply to be excluded from the policy to avoid improper ad disapprovals.

Advertisers promoting other restricted government documents or services covered by this policy will still need to apply for the appropriate certification based on their case.
