Google Publishes Official Guide to Video Ads Across Google Surfaces for PMAX

During Google Marketing Live 2025, Google has announced testing video ads across Google surfaces, providing brands with a new way to engage shoppers earlier in the purchasing funnel.

Now, an official article has been published detailing how this works.

These ads combine video assets with product information, providing users with a more visual and immersive experience of your brand.

To use it, add video content to your Performance Max campaigns to be eligible to show up in Search, Image Search, Google Shopping, and your Discover feed. Currently available in the U.S. and Canada only.

These ads were already spotted live in Search and Shopping. The Discover feed has shown videos before, but those were likely from Demand Gen campaigns.
