Arpan Banerjee spotted Text Guidelines in beta live in his Google Ads account. This new setting, first announced in September 2025, that lets advertisers control how AI-generated ad copy in Performance Max and AI Max for Search campaigns represents their brand.

Marketers can now exclude specific words (like “cheap”), enforce capitalization or brand spelling rules (e.g., “Always write SkinLux”), and maintain consistent tone across AI-generated headlines and descriptions.
