Google Ads has introduced a new default opt-in setting in Demand Gen campaigns that allows automatic video generation from image creatives.

When creating a new campaign, advertisers will see a “Videos” asset optimization option enabled by default.
This feature uses AI to generate video assets from uploaded images in multiple formats. While intended to increase reach across YouTube and other placements, it may go unnoticed by advertisers, especially since the videos may be published without manual review.
