Starting April 21, 2025, Google Merchant Center will update how it reports product clicks to align with Google Ads.
This change comes as a response to new ad formats that involve different types of interactions. While Google Ads has long distinguished between clicks and other interactions, Merchant Center has grouped all interactions under “product clicks.” That’s changing.
With this update, product click reporting will now follow the same definition across both platforms.
What this means for you:
- In Merchant Center, you might notice changes in your current and historical product click data.
- In Google Ads, your reporting experience stays the same (clicks and interactions will continue to be reported separately).
This alignment should help simplify performance comparisons and make your reporting more consistent across platforms.
