New Rules for Gambling Ads in Puerto Rico and Germany

In September 2024, Google will update its Gambling and Game policy, introducing new guidelines for advertisers in Puerto Rico and Germany.

Puerto Rico: Starting September 9, 2024, Google Ads will accept sports betting ads from entities licensed by the Puerto Rico Gaming Commission. Advertisers must apply for certification to run these ads.

Germany: Effective September 25, 2024, only gambling operators and brokers licensed by the Gemeinsame Glücksspielbehörde der Länder (GGL) will be eligible for Google Ads certification. Advertisers not meeting these criteria, including those offering gambling aggregation services, will lose their existing certifications.
