New Gmail Ads Format

A screenshot of a revamped email inbox shows ads and notifications, primarily from LinkedIn, highlighting connection requests and network invitations. At the top, a Gmail Ads banner displays prominently, emphasizing its new format amidst the usual array of recommendations.

There are new ads in Gmail. These are most likely ads from PMAX, as they behave and look completely different than ads from the Discovery campaign. They appear at the top and also between messages and attract attention at first glance in the list of messages. When clicked, a window will appear above the list of messages with advertising content.

Let’s recall that Discovery ads were almost indistinguishable from other messages except for the Advertising label, and when clicked, they opened as if they were a received email.

So far, I have only come across them in the mobile application, but Floris de Schrijver from Holland shared a screenshot from the desktop as well.
