Bing has introduced a new feature allowing users to disable AI Copilot responses in search results. A browser extension is available for Chrome and Edge, which lets users toggle AI answers on or off with a simple click, or they can append -ai to their search queries.
Jordi Ribas, President of Search at Microsoft, stated on X, “This extension empowers users to decide their preferred search experience, reflecting our commitment to user choice.” This move follows a noticeable uptick in DuckDuckGo’s usage, as it does not include AI-generated results in searches. Microsoft is currently seeking feedback on this preview feature to explore broader integration into Bing.

For advertisers, disabling AI responses could impact ad visibility alongside AI-generated content.
