Google has announced an update to its Healthcare and medicines policy, allowing telemedicine providers in New Zealand to promote prescription drug services.
This change applies to providers certified by LegitScript’s Healthcare Merchant Certification Program and also requires Google healthcare certification.

The update introduces a limited approval framework:
- Only certified telemedicine providers can advertise prescription services
- Compliance with local laws and certification requirements remains mandatory
As with similar policy changes, violations will not result in immediate suspension. Advertisers will receive a 7 day warning before enforcement actions.
