Google Ads now requires to add an “Ads funded by” label as part of the Advertiser Verification process. This new field identifies the individual or entity financing the ad spend and appears directly in the ad, alongside existing identity details.

The funder name is drawn from the billing profile and can be edited during or after verification. Only users with Payment Admin or Users access can submit Advertiser Verification, which may complicate things for agencies managing client accounts.
This change builds on recent transparency updates. Earlier in May, Google announced it would begin publicly displaying payer names, and by mid-month, the “Ads funded by” label began appearing across ads in the Ads Transparency Center.
Advertisers should verify the displayed name to avoid misrepresentation. To review or update this field, go to Billing > Advertiser Verification.
