Google has announced that there are no current plans to provide segmentation or inventory control at the network level (such as for Gmail, Discover feed, etc.).
However, in the Q1 of 2024, Google plans to introduce Format Preferences for Video inventory. This will enable advertisers to tailor their video creatives to specific intended placements (In-stream, In-feed, Shorts) where they want them to be shown.
To utilize this, advertisers will need a minimum of three video assets, which they can assign to each of these placements.
