Google Merchant Center now offers conversational attributes designed to enhance product data understanding for AI systems.
These optional attributes aim to improve customer discovery of products across various AI-driven surfaces, enriching traditional search experiences.

Advertisers can utilize the following attributes: Question and answer, Document link, Related product, Item group title, Variant option, and Popularity rank.
These can be integrated using supplemental data sources or the Merchant API, and their inclusion does not affect the approval status of existing products.
Here’s the official documentation for each attribute:
- Document link [document_link] – links to authoritative product documentation in PDF form (user guides, manuals, assembly instructions)
- Popularity rank [popularity_rank] – the product’s popularity ranked as a percentage of total inventory (0.0–100.0)
- Variant option [variant_option] – the variant-identifying properties of a product (sub-attributes name and value)
- Item group title [item_group_title] – assigns a common title to a product that has multiple variants (used with item_group_id)
- Related product [related_product] – other products in your inventory related to this one: accessories, spare parts, or substitutes
- Question and answer [question_and_answer] – answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the product
