Google is updating the names of inventory mode options in Google Ads accounts starting May 2026. The changes apply to content suitability and inventory options in Video ad campaigns across YouTube and Google video partners.

Here’s what’s changing:

  • Expanded Inventory: Now called Maximum Inventory
  • Standard Inventory: Renamed to Moderate Inventory
  • Limited Inventory: Remains unchanged

Accounts that have not previously selected a specific inventory mode will default to Maximum inventory starting in May 2026. Advertisers who have already configured their inventory mode settings will see no changes to their current selections.

Advertisers can review and adjust their content suitability settings through their Google Ads account under Tools > Content suitability if desired.
