Starting November 17, 2025, Google Ads will update the default settings for customer conversion goals.

  • Current approach: New conversion actions auto-create goals that are instantly account-default.
  • New approach: A goal will only become account-default if all goals in that category are account-default. Otherwise, it won’t default.

This prevents campaigns from optimizing toward unnecessary goals, improving bidding efficiency and performance. Developers can still manually set goals as the account default by using CustomerConversionGoal.biddable = true.
