Broad Match Becomes Default in Google Search Campaigns

A screenshot of a campaign settings interface for Google Search Campaigns shows options for "Broad match keywords" with a toggle to use them as the default for the entire campaign. A green "New!" label highlights this feature. An "Automatically created" section is partially visible below.

Google has updated its campaign creation process, enabling broad match for new Search campaigns by default.

Previously, broad match option was off by default.

This change aligns Search campaigns with Performance Max campaigns, where Final URL Expansion and Asset creation are also on by default.

Advertisers should review campaign settings carefully to avoid unexpected costs, especially if they prefer starting with phrase or exact match.
