Thomas Eccel in his recent post has shared that Google Ads has enabled a beta version of the “Video Partner” opt-in by default for new Demand Gen campaigns, which could affect advertisers’ budgets.

When first spotted in August 2024, it was off by default, this setting appears automatically enabled, with exceptions for existing Video Action campaigns.

Advertisers should check their campaign settings to avoid unintended costs.
