Merchants must mark any incentivized review as true in the feed to stay compliant and avoid review suppression or feed disapprovals.

What to know:

  • New boolean attribute: <is_incentivized_review>
  • Required only when a review was collected via an incentive
  • Mis-tagging can lead to visibility loss in Shopping
  • Supported in Google’s Product Review Feed schema and policy docs

For brands offering reward-based review programs, this update brings clarity and flexibility, but accuracy is essential to maintain trust signals and avoid policy issues.
