Google Ads Adds Channel Selection When No Campaign Goal Is Chosen

Rokas Golcas shared that Google Ads has introduced a new campaign setup step when no campaign objective is selected. Advertisers are now asked to choose between “All channels” or “Select individual channels.”

If “All channels” is selected, Google defaults to creating a Performance Max campaign. This is a change from the previous flow, where simply all available campaign types were shown in the absence of a campaign goal.

The update simplifies setup but may lead to more auto-generated PMAX campaigns, especially among less experienced users.
