Thomas Eccel noticed that Google rolled out a new “Learning Phase Estimates” forecast for Demand Gen campaigns, currently in beta.

He was able to find that it provides key insights into how long your campaign’s learning phase will take, helping you optimize for better performance.

Key Metrics:

  • Days to First Conversion: Estimated time until the first conversion.
  • First Week Conversions: Expected conversions in the first week.
  • Days in Learning Phase: Duration needed for the system to exit the learning phase.

What Was Noticed:

  • Higher daily budgets reduce the learning phase duration.
  • Using the recommended CPA target optimizes learning phase performance.
  • Increasing the CPA target also shortens the learning phase.

Proof:

  • If your campaign meets performance expectations, a checkmark icon will appear.
  • If not, an info icon will be displayed.
