Starting January 2026, Google is updating its Shopping promotion policies to allow more promotion types, including discounts on subscription services and support for common abbreviations in promo text.

Advertisers can now run “Subscribe and save” promotions (e.g. “First month free” or “95% off Audible subscription”) by setting the proper eligibility in the Merchant Center UI or using subscribe_and_save in the promotion feed.

Common promo terms like BOGO, B1G1, MRP, and MSRP are now accepted, making it easier to reflect standard retail offers.

Additionally, in Brazil only, promotions tied to specific payment methods are now supported, including cashback to digital wallets (e.g. “5% cashback using PicPay”).

This gives merchants more flexibility in how promotions are structured and displayed, especially for subscriptions.
