Microsoft Tightens Brazil Gambling Rules

Microsoft Tightens Brazil Gambling Rules

Microsoft has updated its gambling policy for Brazil, incorporating specific licensing requirements for state lotteries and affiliates.

As of August 19, 2026, online casinos, sports betting, and daily fantasy sports will require licensing from the Ministry of Finance and a local presence in Brazil. State lotteries must also secure licenses from local regulators and cannot target users outside their respective states.

New rules now mandate that casino and sports betting websites use the .bet.br domain extension, while gambling aggregators and affiliates must be licensed by the National Revenue Agency (NRA)

The previous section titled ‘Social or Sweepstakes Gaming’ has been renamed to ‘Social Gaming.’
