Google Introduces Multi-Source Conversions

Google has renamed conversions with multiple data sources to multi-source conversions across its documentation. This change applies to various elements such as page titles, anchor labels, and alert descriptions in Tag Diagnostics.

Multi-source conversions allow advertisers to connect an existing website conversion action with an additional backend data source, such as a CRM or order database, via Data Manager or the Data Manager API.

It helps advertisers to recover conversions lost due to ad blockers or browser restrictions without risking double counting.

Key requirements include a unique transaction ID, conversion date/time, and at least one attribution identifier (GCLID, GBRAID, WBRAID, or hashed data). The feature is still in beta and not available for imported GA4 conversions or URL-based actions.
