Google Updates Default Ads Treatment Policy

Google Updates Default Ads Treatment Policy

Google has renamed and updated its Default Ads Treatment policy to improve clarity about how ad restrictions apply while Google estimates a user’s age. The policy is now called Categories Restricted While Google Is Estimating a User’s Age and clarifies that these protections are temporary during the age estimation process.

The update also includes one notable policy change. Google has removed shocking content from the list of ad categories that are restricted while a user’s age is being determined. The remaining restricted categories are adult content and pornography, alcohol, and gambling.
