Recurring Billing Policy Expanded for Prescription Drugs in the U.S.

Google has announced an update to its recurring billing policy that will take effect on March 31, 2026, allowing certified U.S. online pharmacies to promote prescription drug subscriptions, prescription drug bundles, and prescription drug consultation services in the U.S.

To take advantage of these changes, certified merchants must meet the following requirements:

  • Clearly disclose all fees and explain what the offer includes on the landing page
  • Maintain status as a certified U.S. Online Pharmacy
  • Submit the subscription cost attribute in Merchant Center
  • Include a link to subscription terms and conditions in the return policy field

Accounts previously disapproved for prescription drug subscriptions can request a new review once compliant.
