GDN Integration to Demand Gen: Timeline & Key Changes

At the end of January, Google briefly mentioned the addition of the Google Display Network (GDN) to Demand Gen. Now, it has officially announced the update and provided more information.

Here’s what’s changing and when:

March 2025:

  • Channel Controls: Launch of channel controls enabling advertisers to precisely select ad placements across YouTube, Discover, Gmail, and the Google Display Network.
  • Renaming: “Google Video Partners” will be renamed to “Google Display Network” within Demand Gen.
  • Opt-In Adjustment: Opt-in settings will move from the campaign level to the ad group level for increased flexibility.

April 2025:

  • Image Inventory Expansion: Demand Gen campaigns with image assets will start serving ads across the GDN, reaching over 90% of the global internet population.
  • Google Display Network segment: Currently, this report segment shows data for Google Video Partners, but starting in April 2025, it will also include image ads on GDN.
