Google Ads Adds Tips for Pinning Headlines and Descriptions

Google Ads has updated its responsive search ads help document with enhanced guidelines for pinning headlines and descriptions. Advertisers are advised against pinning identical or very similar text, as this can lower Ad Strength. A hybrid strategy is now recommended, allowing one or two essential keyword headlines to be pinned while letting the remainder rotate dynamically.

  • Avoid pinning identical or very similar text to the same slot.
  • Use a hybrid strategy.
  • Ensure to use a single headline.
  • If a keyword exceeds 30 characters, place it in the 90-character description field instead.
