Google has announced an update to its Financial Services verification requirements for advertisers targeting Malaysia, with enforcement beginning on April 14, 2026.

Advertisers promoting financial services may need to complete a two step verification process. First, they must obtain verification through Google’s external compliance partner G2, which checks licensing status, regulatory authorization, and other business details. After that, advertisers must apply for Google’s Financial Services verification as either a First Party or an Authorised Advertiser.

Agencies managing campaigns for affected advertisers will also need verification. Applications through G2 will open on March 10, 2026. Advertisers who fail to complete verification before the deadline will no longer be able to show financial services ads in Malaysia.
