Google Removes 5.1 Billion Ads and Suspends Millions of Advertisers in 2024

Google’s 2024 Ads Safety Report reveals a massive spike in enforcement: 39.2 million advertiser accounts were suspended, more than triple the 12.7 million in 2023. In addition, 5.1 billion ads were removed, and over 9.1 billion were restricted for policy violations.

Google also took action against 1.3 billion publisher pages and over 220,000 publisher sites at a broader level. These efforts are backed by advancements in AI enforcement, with Google reporting over 50 LLM updates to improve detection and accuracy.

The surge in suspensions reflects stricter scrutiny on policy violations and bad actors across the platform.
