Merchant API Arrives for Google Ads Scripts in April

Google has announced that the Merchant API will be available in Google Ads scripts starting April 22, 2026, ahead of the Content API for Shopping sunset on August 18, 2026. The new API introduces a more modular structure, making it easier to adopt updates and reduce disruptions.

Key additions include:

  • Google Product Studio API with generative AI features
  • New APIs for reviews and notifications
  • Expanded data source management for product, inventory, and promotions
  • Built-in support for omnichannel setups

The Merchant API will be accessible as an Advanced API in the scripts editor.
