Google is now sending reminders about the upcoming deadlines to migrate to the new Merchant API. Beta users must complete the transition by February 28, 2026, and Content API users by August 18, 2026.

You can easily check what type of API you use navigating to Settings > Data Sources > Check “Source” column. If it shows “Content API,” you need to act.

This migration will impact feed labels, and if feeds aren’t reconnected correctly, Shopping and Performance Max campaigns may stop serving. Advertisers who depend on feed labels for campaign logic should update their setups well before the cutoff.

If your Google Ads campaigns rely on feed labels, migration without updates can break delivery. You can check update your feed labels here:

Google Ads campaign settings page with the "Campaigns" menu selected and an arrow highlighting the "Feeds" section, where a product feed URL is displayed for configuring Shopping Ads through the Merchant API.

Google first outlined this transition back in July 2024, and we recently highlighted a related feed policy change affecting Shopping promotions.
