Google has released v23 of the Google Ads API, bringing several notable upgrades for advertisers and developers. This is the first API update of 2026 and signals Google’s move to a more frequent update schedule.

The update introduces campaign-level invoice breakdowns, itemized costs, and adjustment details, expanding on the initial InvoiceService features from v21. Surface-specific conversion rate suggestions are now available for Demand Gen campaigns through ReachPlanService, building on previous basic estimates reported in earlier versions.
Additional changes include time-based controls for campaigns, the ability to view store locations in PerStoreView, a new life event user interest dimension, and more competitive Shopping metrics. AI capabilities now let users translate free-text audience descriptions into targeted segments.
To access many of these features, users must update their client libraries and code.
