Effective October 22, 2025, Google has updated and renamed its Child Sexual Abuse Imagery (CSAI) policy to the Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) policy.

This update clarifies the policy language to better align with industry standards and more comprehensively address all forms of child abuse and exploitation, including fictional, simulated, or AI-generated content.

  • Scope of the policy remains unchanged, but enforcement is being reaffirmed with full effect starting immediately.
  • The policy strictly prohibits any content that promotes, facilitates, or glorifies child sexual abuse, grooming, sextortion, trafficking, or any material that sexualizes minors (under 18).
  • Violations are treated as egregious, leading to immediate account suspension without prior notice, and may be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

This change follows the earlier announcement made on August 19, 2025. Read the full update here: Update to the Inappropriate Content: Child Sexual Abuse Imagery policy (CSAI) (October 2025).
