Google’s Call Recording Defaults To Enabled

A Google Ads email notification states that unselected Google Call Recording settings will default to “Yes” starting July 1, 2026, and explains the change, recommended actions, and features a blue “Access your account” button.

Google has announced that call recording settings will automatically default to Yes starting July 1, 2026 for accounts with no previous selection. Advertisers who prefer to keep call recording disabled must manually update their settings to No before June 30, 2026.

This change is part of broader improvements in call reporting, with Google introducing AI-based call quality evaluation. Advertisers can still disable call recording at any time in account settings.
