Google Ads is introducing a new recommendation type related to image assets. The system now analyzes uploaded visuals and encourages advertisers to follow best practices.
Advertisers will see these prompts in the Recommendations tab, suggesting they replace low-quality assets to improve ad performance.
In the screenshot, Google recommends advertisers “Copy and edit background color to white,” noting that this change could affect Display and Gmail channels. The suggestion includes a thumbnail under “Suggested image to edit,” showing an asset where the background closely matches the main object’s color, alongside an Edit button to make adjustments.

Optimized image assets can lead to stronger engagement and better delivery across Google surfaces.
