Yash Mandlesha and Adriaan Dekker shared that Google is testing a new Promotion Mode feature in Google Ads, currently in alpha.

Advertisers can set a fixed spend over 3–90 days using Campaign total budget and layer in a Promotion Mode (3–14 days) to drive higher volume during peak sale period.

It works across Performance Max, Search, and Shopping campaigns, supporting tROAS and tCPA bidding. Unlike standard seasonality adjustments, this feature blends in sale dates, promotional assets, and flexible ROAS targets, giving Smart Bidding clearer signals to ramp up spending efficiently.

The design makes it especially useful for flash sales, holiday promos, ticketed events, and travel offers, ensuring brands capture spikes in demand without overshooting budgets.
