Microsoft Advertising has updated its political advertising policies to comply with EU Regulation 2024/900, taking effect on October 10, 2025. The platform continues to prohibit political advertising and now requires all advertisers to declare whether campaigns are political before creation or import.

This is the second official communication on the topic. Earlier this month, Microsoft sent out an email outlining the initial rollout and declaration process. You can review the full message in our previous news post update.
If the Political advertising declaration checkbox is not visible after October 7, 2025, users should sign out and back in or update to the latest version of Microsoft Advertising Editor. Failure to do so will be treated as confirmation that campaigns are non-political.
During campaign import, Microsoft will ask users to verify political ad declarations made in Google Ads or Meta Ads. Any campaigns flagged as political will be skipped automatically.
