Google has published two new help pages outlining how vehicle advertisers can display CO₂ efficiency labels in Germany and France using the [certification] attribute.

In Germany, labeling is mandatory. Advertisers must include CO₂ class information from the BMWK authority. For hybrid vehicles, two CO₂ classes are required: one for combined usage and another for when the battery is discharged. Sub-attributes include:
[certification_authority]= “BMWK”[certification_name]= “Vehicle_CO2_Class” or “Vehicle_CO2_Class_Discharged_Battery”[certification_value]= actual class value
In France, labeling is optional but follows a similar structure. Merchants can consult the ADEME registry to find the correct class. Sub-attributes:
[certification_authority]= “ADEME”[certification_name]= “Vehicle_CO2_Class”[certification_value]= relevant CO₂ class
These labels now appear in vehicle listings across both countries.
