In Germany, labeling is mandatory. Advertisers must include CO₂ class information from the BMWK authority. For hybrid vehicles, two CO₂ classes are required: one for combined usage and another for when the battery is discharged. Sub-attributes include:

  • [certification_authority] = “BMWK”
  • [certification_name] = “Vehicle_CO2_Class” or “Vehicle_CO2_Class_Discharged_Battery”
  • [certification_value] = actual class value

In France, labeling is optional but follows a similar structure. Merchants can consult the ADEME registry to find the correct class. Sub-attributes:

  • [certification_authority] = “ADEME”
  • [certification_name] = “Vehicle_CO2_Class”
  • [certification_value] = relevant CO₂ class

These labels now appear in vehicle listings across both countries.
