Google is expanding its Financial Services Verification to the United States and Canada, building upon its existing identity verification program. The expanded verification requires advertisers to be authorized by relevant financial regulators or recognized registries before running targeted financial ads.
This initiative aims to continue preventing brand impersonation and financial scams, reinforcing the safety of Google’s advertising platforms. Collaborations with local financial regulatory bodies enhance the effectiveness of this program, adapting to the regulatory differences between the U.S. and Canada.

Phase implementation for the rollout is planned for early 2027, providing advertisers with detailed country-specific guidelines and instructions. Advertisers will be notified about how to comply before the new policy starts being enforced.
