Google Ads has rolled out View-Through Conversion (VTC) Optimised Bidding for Android App campaigns, letting advertisers use view-based signals, not just clicks, to drive more installs. A VTC is counted when a user converts within 24 hours of simply viewing an ad, and these signals now directly influence bidding on YouTube and AdMob inventory.
With this update, VTCs for targeted events no longer show in the old VTC column. Instead, they’re reported under the main Conversions column as “Impression” events, while the VTC column only logs ineligible or non-targeted activity.
Advertisers can switch VTC optimization on or off in campaign settings and review performance via Segment → Conversions → Ad event type.

For partnered AAPs, ensure view-through reporting is enabled to minimize discrepancies. This feature gives app advertisers more scale and smarter optimisation while still supporting engaged-view conversion measurement.
