Google has updated its Business Agent help page to let Shopify merchants enable the AI powered shopping assistant directly through the Google & YouTube app.
Business Agent is a branded AI shopping assistant that appears when consumers search for a business on Google Search. Shoppers can use it to ask questions about the brand and its products.
Previously, merchants could customize and activate their Business Agent through Merchant Center or their brand profile on Google Search. Now, the Google & YouTube app has been added as a third option.
A new recommendation card in the Google & YouTube app automatically imports the logo, brand colors, and support contact details, while providing defaults for the welcome message and conversation starters. Merchants can review the agent, accept the terms, and publish it. Advanced settings such as tone of voice are still managed in Merchant Center.
