Video Campaign Upgrade to Support Multiple Formats

A Google Ads notification in Polish details updates to campaign formats, including changes to “Video – reach” and new options for TrueView in-feed ads, effective starting in September.

Starting in September, Google will automatically upgrade legacy Video Reach and Video View campaigns to support multiple ad formats. This migration requires no actions from advertisers and ensures continuity of ad formats used prior to the upgrade.

A Google Ads notification in Polish details updates to campaign formats, including changes to “Video – reach” and new options for TrueView in-feed ads, effective starting in September.

Key updates include:

  • Video Reach campaigns will shift from serving only In-stream ads to supporting In-stream, Shorts, and In-feed ads.
  • Video View campaigns using the Maximum Cost-per-View (Max CPV) strategy will transition to new campaigns using the Target Cost-per-View (Target CPV) strategy.
  • Campaign statistics will be preserved, but ad group and ad histories will reset, affecting only active ad groups.
  • New fields for company name and logo will be automatically populated based on the video used in the ad, but ad text and headlines will need manual updates during the next campaign edit.
