Google shared more details about the Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), a standard designed to help merchants connect more easily with AI agents and commerce platforms.
Developed alongside partners including Amazon, Meta, and Salesforce, UCP enables real time sharing of inventory, pricing, loyalty benefits, and other commerce data across platforms.

Google also confirmed that AI powered shopping experiences will expand beyond the U.S. to Canada, Australia, and the UK soon.
UCP capabilities are expected to extend from retail-only into categories like food and travel, opening new opportunities for brands to simplify discovery and reduce friction during checkout.
The initiative reflects Google’s broader push toward more connected and agent driven shopping experiences powered by AI.
