Online Gambling Ads Now Permitted in 4 Nigerian States

Effective October 16, 2025, Google Ads will permit licensed gambling ads in the states of Cross River, Ekiti, Lagos, and Oyo in Nigeria.

Requirements by state:

  • Ekiti: License from Ekiti State Lottery & Gaming Board
  • Oyo: License from Oyo State Gaming Board (OYSGB)
  • Cross River: License from Cross River State Lotteries & Gaming Agency

Eligible formats include bingo, lotteries, sports betting or fantasy sports, and online casino games. To run ads in these categories, advertisers must first apply for Google certification.
