API v22 Launches With Major PMax, Demand Gen, and Smart Bidding Upgrades

Google Ads API v22 has officially launched on October 15, 2025.

Key updates include:

  • Smart Bidding Exploration for Target ROAS on Search with new diversity metrics.
  • Demand Gen upgrades — new asset automation options and bidding strategies.
  • Generative AI asset tools via the new AssetGenerationService (Beta).
  • Performance Max enhancements — image automation settings and new reporting segments.
  • App Campaign improvements — new bidding goals for installs without target values.

All updated client libraries and examples are now live. A release highlights walkthrough will be held on October 16 at 11 am ET on Discord.
