Google has announced version support changes for the Google Ads API Python client library, aligning with Python 3.9’s end-of-life in October 2025. After that date, Python 3.9 will no longer receive updates from the library team except for critical security fixes.

A new major release is expected in Q4 2025 that will no longer support Python 3.9 and will add compatibility with Python 3.14. Users still relying on older Python versions should take note of these upcoming deadlines:

  • Python 3.7: Already unsupported
  • Python 3.8: Loses access when API version v19 sunsets in Q1 2026
  • Python 3.9: Access ends with v22 sunset in late 2026

Advertisers using affected versions should upgrade to Python 3.10 or newer to maintain API access.
