Google May Re-Trigger Verification for Accounts Using Branded Keywords

Advertisers who have already completed Google Ads identity verification may still face unexpected re-verification requests.

A Google Ads notice explains that re-submitting the Advertiser Identity Check may re-trigger verification, especially when starting to advertise with brand keywords. Key info is highlighted and annotated with handwritten-style notes and arrows.

Adding branded keywords can cause Google to reverse prior verification and require the process to be repeated. Google explains that these re-verification prompts usually follow major changes in account behavior.

If the new verification is not completed within 30 days, the account may be suspended.
