Adriaan Dekker highlighted that Google Ads will automatically upgrade accounts to use enhanced conversions at the account level if no action is taken.

If no action is taken by the advertisers by May 2025, Google will do the upgrade automatically.

What’s Changing?

  • Automatic Implementation: Google will select an implementation method (Google Tag, Google Tag Manager, or Ads API) based on your current setup.
  • Existing Conversion Actions: Actions already using enhanced conversions remain unaffected. The rest will be upgraded unless opted out.
  • New Conversion Actions: Post-upgrade, all new actions will inherit account-level enhanced conversion settings.
  • Centralized Management: Enhanced conversion settings will consolidate at the account level, merging with existing tag configurations like Google Analytics.
