Google Merchant Center now mandates energy efficiency labels for certain product categories in the EU, EFTA, and UK. A transition period until April 2025 will allow Google to provide temporary labels based on current product attributes while phasing out old methods.

  • Who’s Affected: Merchants with products that fall under regional energy efficiency standards.
  • Transition Period: Labels will be automatically applied by Google until April 2025, giving merchants time to adapt.

This aligns with EU efforts to enhance sustainability and provide clearer information to consumers.

Here’s the official update: Energy efficiency class [energy_efficiency_class], Minimum energy efficiency class [min_energy_efficiency_class], Maximum energy efficiency class [max_energy_efficiency_class]
