Starting July 31, 2024, Google requires advertisers targeting Swiss users to obtain consent for using cookies or local storage as required by law, along with obtaining permission for collecting, sharing, and using personal data for ad personalization.
In simpler terms, the regulations already in force within the European Economic Area (EEA) and the UK will be extended to Switzerland.
