Sunsetting Commission Bid Strategies For Hotel Ads

Due to evolving industry standards, Google Ads will phase out the Commissions (per Stay) and Commissions (per Conversions) bid strategies for Hotel Ads by October 2024. To facilitate a smooth transition, Google Ads is introducing a target Return on Ads Spend (tROAS) for Hotel campaigns and enhancing its Performance Max solution for travel objectives.

The transition timeline is as follows:

  • As of February 2024, no new applications for Commissions (per Stay) will be accepted.
  • By April 30, 2024, both Commissions (per Stay) and Commissions (per Conversions) bid strategies will be discontinued.
  • Campaigns utilizing these commission-based bid strategies will remain active until the sunset date in October 2024.
  • After October 31, 2024, campaigns using these bid strategies will be deactivated, though historical reporting data will remain accessible.

Advertisers are encouraged to adopt new bid strategies before October 2024 to ensure uninterrupted campaign performance.
